Treating Schizophrenia using Past Life Regression Therapy

health-care-man-hospital-23506325.jpg

In my practice of 29 years, I have made it a rule not to treat clients who have schizophrenia or multiple personality disorder. Four years ago a lovely Japanese family asked if I could help their son who was only 30 years old diagnosed with schizophrenia.

I tried sending them to a psychiatrist I knew who actually treats this population and has seen a link between this diagnosis and past lives. However, she was in another state and charged an enormous amount of money.

The boy’s parents pleaded with me since they had tried all of the traditional routes and was confident this modality could help. I finally agreed if their psychiatrist consented and felt this work wouldn’t harm him in any way.

I explained how past life therapy works in that I take my clients under hypnosis to the root of their problem, his being his schizophrenia, and the subconscious will take us to what caused it. I would then release the energetic blocks that he would hold from past traumas or emotions. I would do this with breath work or visualization. Normally, the energy would dissipate and the condition or issues would disappear. I explained that I had never used my work with someone having schizophrenia unsure how they would react to what they would experience. I wasn’t sure it would work at all but willing to try it, since this was their last hope.

I will call my client Joe, to protect his identity.

Joe and both parents came to my office nervous and hopeful. They were very respectful to their son and myself. They sat quietly on the couch in my office while Joe sat in my hypnosis chair, a reclining chair.

When I asked Joe for information about his condition, he mentioned he was hearing voices in his head of first his sister who kept talking about how he wasn’t a success. This would happen when he would try to sleep at night mostly. In the history intake he told me he had this reoccurring dream and was always nervous, stressed and uncomfortable in school. He seemed fearful of his friends and his sister. So for our first session I had him go back to the root of hearing the voices he heard every night that gave him his nightmares. Joe went back to very old times in China, he wasn’t aware of the dates back then. He was a soldier and had to learn martial arts. He was never sure of what he was doing when he had to fight. He found himself alone most of that life until he was in his 40s. He finally found himself a wife. The wife was his sister in this life. His choice was not a fruitful one since she was an angry woman who would blame him for everything. Nothing he could do would ever be right.

His wife left him when he was 50years old. After a big earthquake, in his loneliness, he started to help his neighbors with rebuilding houses, and anything he could that would help them. They all grew to love and respect him, which made him feel less lonely. He could always hear his ex-wife’s anger and blame in his head instead of the good compliments from his neighbors.

In his 60s he was dying of old age. His last thoughts, which can be carried into this life in a drama, part of one, or a physical ailment, was that he wished he could have proven how successful he was with his building talents to his wife.

His neighbors all thought so and if only she could.

Joe left that life caring his sorrow and regrets from that life that he had from his wife, which again is his sister in this life.

We released his sorrow and regrets and embraced the joy from his neighbors. I explained to Joe that was where his dreams of his sister had been coming from, thinking he was unsuccessful in this life. That she really didn’t feel that way here.

At our next session Joe no longer heard his sisters voice telling him that he was not successful here. Joe also seemed much calmer.

Joe has had 60 past life regressions with me over the course of 4 years and each one peeling always-another layer of his fears. More than half have been as a warrior who was either killed on the battlefield, stabbed in his home, or poisoned to death. His deep paranoia of someone trying to kill him was real lifetimes ago. His fragile psyche has had those lifetimes bleed through from his cellular memory causing him to believe it will happen again in this life. His fears have gotten less and less, the paranoia has also gotten less, and he is trying to live in this life the best he can while he still had a foot rooted to his past lives. We are now exploring not his issues but his most joy filled, loving, peaceful lifetimes, to erase the negative effects from the past, placing only positive ones into his future.

We have come a long way in healing. But this work has been significant in helping to put understanding around why this has happened in this life.

This work is worth exploring with this population. We are learning so much about how the mind works and the importance our DNA plays in presenting our memories.

I am grateful for Joe and his family for being such good teachers to me, expanding my work even further so that I can help more clients that have this disability in the future.

Hypnosis Accepted by the Mayo Clinic

Research Shows Effectiveness of Hypnotherapy

In an article published in NaturalNews, author Steven G. Jones wrote:

The effectiveness of hypnosis is often questioned because the cause of hypnotic phenomenon is not yet known. Research has been conducted on hypnosis for hundreds of years. Thousands of studies have been performed, yet the origination of hypnosis has not yet been realized. The Mayo Clinic has found hypnosis to be very effective and beneficial with a variety of disorders. Hypnosis does not always work the same way for everyone, but its effectiveness cannot be denied.

The Mayo Clinic defines hypnosis as being an altered state of consciousness. There are many changes that occur while a person is in a trance-like state. A person is able to focus their attention in a more direct way while under hypnosis. People are also more open to suggestion, which often helps people make changes in their thought process and in their actions. While in a hypnotic state, people tend to be less critical and more believing. The Mayo Clinic believes that the purpose of hypnosis is a therapeutic technique to help you understand and gain more control over your behavior, actions, emotions, or physical well-being.

Researchers and doctors at the Mayo Clinic are not sure how exactly hypnosis works, but current research points to a mind-body connection through nerves, hormones, and chemicals in the brain and body. Hypnosis is best used in conjunction with other forms of therapy. The Mayo Clinic lists the following benefits of hypnosis: changing negative habits (stop-smoking), reduce stress and anxiety, control pain, relieve irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), lower blood pressure, reduce frequency and intensity of migraines, treat asthma, and heal skin disorders.

The Mayo Clinic also puts many hypnosis myths to rest. Many people think that under hypnosis, they will have no free will. This is untrue; under hypnosis people have a heightened state of concentration, but they are in complete control. Another myth is that a hypnotherapist can control people under hypnosis. The truth is that a hypnotherapist serves as a guide and cannot make anyone do something that they do not want to do. It is also not true that people can become hypnotized without consent. Hypnosis involves a person`s willingness to participate (Goal Oriented Hypnotherapy).

The Mayo Clinic is a one of the leaders in research in the medical field. Their research of hypnotherapy is evidence-based (Hypnosis). They are a reputable source of information on the topic of hypnotherapy and medicine.

Migraine Headaches-Case study- Past life origin and healing

SEVERE MIGRANE HEADACHES

                                 BACKGROUND

IN DECEMBER OF 2005, A CLIENT CAME TO ME PRESENTING SYMPTOMS OF SEVERE MIGRANE HEADACHES. DURING A HISTORY INTAKE SHE INFORMED ME THAT SINCE HER BABY HAD BEEN BORN, THREE MONTHS EARLIER, SHE HAD BEEN GETTING 17 MIRGANES A WEEK. WHEN ASKED WHEN SHE FIRST REMEMBERED GETTING THE FIRST MIRGRANE IN THIS LIFE, SHE RECOUNTED IT HAPPENING AT THE ONSET OF HER FIRST MENSTUATION. HOWEVER, SHE WOULD ONLY GET THEM ONCE A MONTH AND ONLY ONE DAY OF HER PERIOD.

THIS CLIENT TOLD ME SHE HAD BEEN TO MANY DOCTORS, ESPECIALLY NEUROLOGIST, TO SEEK THEIR HELP. THEY FOUND NOTHING ORGANICALLY WRONG WITH HER AND ONLY OFFERED PAIN KILLERS. SHE FELT THAT THEY DIDN’T HELP AND THAT SHE COULD NOT FUNCTION WITH HER NEW BABY IN THIS PAIN. WHEN A HEADACHE WOULD COME ON SHE WOULD HAVE TO GO TO BED, WITH BLINDS SHUT AND THE ROOM DARKENED. OFTEN SHE WOULD VOMIT DUE TO THE PAIN. SHE SAID THESE MADE HER FEEL “TRAPPED.”

I RECEIVED ADDITIONAL HISTORY ABOUT HER FAMILY, HER HUSBAND AND THE CHILD BIRTH, NONE OF WHICH SOUNDED SUSPICIOUS REGARDING THE HEADACHES.

                                                TREATMENT

WE AGREED THAT I WOULD PUT HER UNDER HYPNOSIS AND ASK THAT SHE GO TO THE ROOT OF THE MIRGRANES, TO SEE WHAT WAS CAUSING THEM.

WHEN UNDER, MY CLIENT WENT INTO A PAST LIFETIME AROUND THE EARLY 1800S. SHE SAW HERSELF LIVING IN A SMALL HOUSE IN THE COUNTRY, ON A FARM. WHEN ASKED TO LOOK BACK OVER THE FIRST 10 YEARS OF HER LIFE TO SEE IF ANYTHING SIGNIFICANT HAPPENED, SHE CONTRACTED, AND STARTED CRYING. SHE SAID HER FATHER HAD RAPED HER AFTER HER MOTHER PAST AWAY. SHE BECAME PREGNANT, FEELING “TRAPPED” AND ASHAMED. SHE STAYED AT HOME MOST OF THE TIME DOING CHORES AND DISASSOCIATING TO COPE. THROUGH BREATH WORK AND VISUALIZATION I HAD HER RELEASE THE FEELING OF BEING “TRAPPED” AND THE DEEP SHAME SHE CARRIED. SHE WAS 13 YEARS OLD WHEN THIS HAPPENED.

AS I PROGRESSED HER FURTHER TO 15YEARS OLD , SHE SAW HERSELF WALKING IN TOWN WITH HER BABY. FEELING OUT OF HER BODY, SHE GOT HIT BY A HORSE AND WAGON, HITTING HER HEAD ON THE STREET AND DYING.  DEATH CAME SO FAST SHE HAD NO TIME TO THINK OF ANYTHING BEFORE SHE DIED.

I TOOK HER TO FIND A GUIDE IN THE SPIRITUAL DEMENSION SO WE COULD ASK SOME QUESTIONS. WHEN SHE FOUND HER GUIDE WE ASKED HOW THAT LIFE AFFECTED HER MIRGRANES IN THIS LIFE .

WE WERE TOLD THAT THE RAPE, PREGNANCY, AND DEATH WERE ALL TIED TOGETHER. THE HEAD TRAUMA AT DEATH RESULTED AS SHE CARRIED THE TRAUMA OF CONCEPTION. THIS EXPLAINED WHY SHE PRESENTED WITH HEADACHES BOTH AT MENSTRUATION AND AFTER CHILD BIRTH. THE BODY ‘S CELLULAR MEMORY WAS TRIGGERD BY HER CONNECTION TO AGE AND THE CONCEPTION OF HER BABY. CONCEPTION AND HEAD TRAUMA ONCE AGAIN REVISITED.

                                              RESULTS

MY CLIENT CALLED SEVERAL MONTHS AFTER OUR SESSION TO INFORM ME THAT HER MIGRANES HAD DISAPPEARED BUT THAT SHE OCCASIONALLY STILL GETS HEADACHES.

WHEN WE ASKED HER GUIDE HOW MANY LIFETIMES DOES SHE NEED TO RELEASE FROM TO CLEAR THE HEADACHES, WE WERE TOLD 3 MORE.

MY CLIENT CAN NOW FUNCTION AS A MOTHER AND WIFE, WITHOUT FEELING ‘TRAPPED”, OR IN SEVERE PAIN. SHE WILL BE COMING TO ME TO DO THE OTHER 3 LIFETIMES SO WE CAN CLEAR ALL OF HER HEADACHES.

MY CLIENTS DOCTORS ARE AMAZED THAT SHE NO LONGER SUFFERS FROM HER MIGRANES.

A part of my discovery- learning about past life regression

“Go with your gut, or knowingness,” was the message of the day, and it was not lost on me. I pursued the path, gaining greater confidence with each step forward. I joined a professional organization, The Association for Past Life Research and Therapy, leading and participating in workshops given by leading regression therapists, sharing experiences and techniques. I was astounded to see validation, results, to share the experiences of others and to test my own.  I was astounded to see that far from being an innovative new science, Past Life Regression had a noble history, as deep and rich as our dream life and as memorable as the archetypes of our existence. The array of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, healers of all kinds and spiritual leaders who were using this therapy in their practices surprised me.

It was still a closet science, and we all felt a sense of vulnerability. How could we be sure? How could we define our methodology and at the same time establish our credibility in a world of the material, the scientific, the ultra-rational and ultimately non-experiential? Many were keeping it quiet, fearful of risking reputations that had taken so long to establish.

Yet an iceberg was moving, a tremendous shift was underway in ourselves (this was the age of a New Millennium after all) and in the psyche of our very planet. We all started finding many, many more people open to such findings, and many clinicians were experiencing, chronicling and validating the same phenomena. Of course the most important criteria was the increased speed in healing the client. Amazingly, what could take years of traditional psychotherapy was being accomplished sometimes within weeks!  We were not abandoning old systems, rather, we were absorbing the new, and the results were spectacular. We saw amazing healing on many levels as emotions were released and connections to the present life made miraculous physical healings happen as well.

The discipline known as Past Life Regression Therapy grew from a tiny group of practitioners to a well-respected and fast-growing field worldwide.  People seeking connections, healing, and to repair psychic wounds – or wounds to the psyche – found help with Past Life Regression Therapy. Now, there are therapists practicing all over the world in the professional association alone.

This therapy has been found helpful for almost everything whether mental, spiritual, physical, emotional or energetic in nature.  As I continued my work, many themes, lessons and theology blossomed. Important information emerged that mankind needs to know.  Footsteps in the Sands of Time: Past Life Dramas – Present Life Lessons represents what a sacred tool this work is to my clients and a step in my own spiritual growth. I now seek not only to share this amazing work, the timely stories and spiritual knowledge, but to help pull together what it is we all need to learn from this information. For me, life is unfolding as a script that we put together before entering our physical body, one that will

help us understand what we need to learn, with whom we need to learn it, and the choices that can always change our past, present and future karma.

We need to know who we were to better understand who we are.   In this constant process of remembering our pasts comes a shedding of our bodies, a cycle of incarnation into other lives and bodies all drawn together by a miraculous spiritual flow that science is only beginning to define and quantify, but what the spirit has known all along. We have the tools within us to do so, through prayer, the unconscious, an open heart and mind, a power, and wonder that can cross lifetimes and dimensions.

We are all the same people, each sharing the same breath from the Supreme Being that has given us life. We have all been the victim and the abuser, all been Chinese, African, Jewish, Catholic, handicapped or kingly. Therefore we need not judge others since we have been where they are now or will be. We have forgotten how to live our basic truths of how to love, be at peace, live in harmony with humans, animals and the environment that nourish and shelter us. Our greatest obstacle is how to get there – our greatest barrier is intolerance – both of others and of the beauty within ourselves.

Near death experiences reported around the world have indicated that when we leave this world we are our own judges. We witness a life review and know where we have failed to learn, where we have created good and what we must do to compensate for our missteps. We know that we will walk into the next life better prepared, with greater wisdom and greater experience, but we must remember why we have come and what we must do to achieve our lesson. It is up to us to accept without judgment the lives we have led, trusting that we chose this life to learn from, and bring ourselves closer to the oneness that we know as God. I will share my stories hoping that something may touch what you need to learn while on your spiritual journey.

What Lesson have you scripted for this life?

Image

It is my belief that we design our life before we come to this earth with the help of our guides. We will choose a life that will allow us to learn our main lesson here, complete karma, and resolve our relationships that travel with us over time and space. We usually travel with the same soul group through lifetimes, and even those on the periphery of our life could have been a close relationship in a past life.

Most of us would say that they would never choose the traumas, perhaps the parents, or issues they carry through this life, but we choose on spirit side without an emotional or physical body. We choose what it is we need to learn that will allow us to evolve and expand, which doesn’t always happen unless we are in such discomfort we want to change or change the situation we are in. For instance, if we were abused in this life we may have chosen to be to learn how to speak up for ourselves and not allow it anymore, for we may not have been able to do that in a past life due to cultural expectations. So we know in this life we can finally speak up with out being punished in some way. Once we understand the lesson, which may be speaking our voice, and fulfill it, we won’t have to come back and do it again!

If we look at our patterns here, like possibly choosing emotionally unavailable parents, friends, and lovers, almost always we are here to learn self-love.  This is one of the most difficult lessons to learn since we seem to look outside ourselves for this emotion. We look to others to love us and then when they don’t we unconsciously assume we are unlovable. We accept that we are unlovable sooner than to turn inside and question if we really are loveable. When we really take a look we have many wonderful qualities. The question is always, how am I supposed to love myself. It starts with not taking on others judgments of you. How dare anyone judge you when they have their own faults or issues they need to work on. In speaking up to them and telling them that they hurt you or can’t treat you that way any more will not only empower you (self love) but also teach them that their behavior is unacceptable. You become the teacher they need so they too can grow and evolve.

There are many lessons we come into this life to learn but the one that keeps showing up as a pattern is the main lesson. What have you come here to learn?

Is strength, compassion, truth, trust, love or self-love, creativity, spontaneity, focus, tolerance, or humility? Those are just a few. Sit with yourself and see if you can find your pattern and perhaps your lesson. Let me know what you find.

Could I be my deceased Aunt Rose?

Image

In my work I come across some regressions that I find fascinating and that stay with me over the years. This one had some interesting twists that were validating and confirmed the power of our vows.

The following is a session I had with a client named Samantha. I have set it up as I do in my book, and as I do with my regression sessions. I do this under hypnosis giving the subconscious the intention of what we want to remember.

INTENTION: Let’s go back to the past to see if you were your father’s sister, Aunt

Rose, who died before you were born.

On a cold winter day, a week after an evening workshop, Samantha came to my

office with the question she had asked at our prior meeting: “Do you think I could

be my Aunt Rose?”

Although the family rarely spoke about Aunt Rose, from the time Samantha was a child, she loved the teas, that she had with her aunts, who commented that their sister Rose use to sit around enjoying afternoon tea with them.  Her aunts also commented that Samantha reminded them of Rose, in looks and manner.  The picture of Aunt Rose that Samantha brought, showed a remarkable resemblance between them.  We were both excited about the possibility that Samantha had been her Aunt Rose in a prior life.

Samantha apologized about not knowing much about her aunt, explaining that the family, particularly Samantha’s father, felt uncomfortable talking about Aunt Rose.  All that Samantha knew about her Aunt was that she looked like her and was told that they had the same mannerisms.  Her Aunt had died young, but the family never explained the details.

While listening to Samantha, I wondered what her father would think if he foundout that his deceased sister was now his daughter?  I also wondered why Samantha chose him as a parent rather than choosing one of her Aunts?  What was the karma they had to work through that brought them into parent/child relationship?

REGRESSION: Samantha regressed to 1950, the year in which Aunt Rose was born. Samantha was born in 1975 in this life.  Samantha reported that she saw her aunts, Aunt Rose’s sisters, gathered around the cradle staring down at Aunt Rose as a newborn baby. Samantha was able to see that her father, Aunt Rose’s brother, did not join his sisters around the cradle; instead he sat alone in a corner.

I progressed Samantha to the age of five, where she was surrounded by her Aunt Rose’s sisters, at their summer house. In a childish voice, she described the fun she had swimming in the lake, attending family picnics and playing games. When the summer ended, she hated to leave.  I asked Samantha what her name was in that life. She said it was Rose.

She continued telling me about a small pond, in which she and her brother would catch frogs and race them.

I progressed her to the age of ten, but Samantha, instead went to the age of twelve, grabbing her stomach, wincing in pain, crying for help, as she sat in my hypnosis chair. She saw herself rushed to the local hospital from her summer home, where doctors performed an emergency appendectomy just in time, preventing the possibility of it rupturing, and her possible death.  Recuperation took two weeks.

At fifteen, Rose fell in love with Rick, whom she described as “the most wonderful boy” she had ever met.  He was kind, gentle, yet strong and handsome.  Rick also thought that Rose was the most wonderful girl he had ever met. Both of them hoped their summer would never end.  When it did, they wrote back and forth, pledging their love and their future together forever.

As we progressed to her sixteenth birthday, stiffening in the hypnosis chair, barely able to move. Samantha explained she was now stricken with polio, paralyzed from her waist down.  Her condition did not prevent Rick from continuing to pledge his undying love.

Samantha, however, felt guilty about tying Rick down with a “cripple”.  Rick’s loyalty and love did not waiver, and he remained constant.  Samantha cringed in the chair, recalling the horrific pain and muscle cramps.

As Aunt Rose, Samantha had tried to be what she considered, a trooper, to hide her pain from Rick, but he could see through her façade.  That year, Rose died from polio.

LAST THOUGHT BEFORE DYING IN THAT LIFE:  Holding Rick’s hand, Rose told him, Don’t worry, we will be together again some day.  In turn, Rick vowed his faithfulness and love.

LESSON: self-love

AWARENESS AND CONNECTION:  Believing that her crippled legs in that lifetime made her ugly, Samantha carried her self-esteem issues into the present life, thinking that people in this life also believe she is ugly.  Samantha instantly understood why she always felt that way here. We were both hopeful that would help her understand her feelings and let go of the energy around it. Samantha did become loving to herself and did start feeling more confident.

After the first session Samantha went home to ask her dad whether Aunt Rose had an appendectomy and had excruciating leg pain due to polio. Samantha was also curious about what had happened to Rick in that life, she wondered if he was still alive, and if he had remained true to his pledge of love to her forever.

Samantha’s dad validated what Samantha had learned in her regression: Aunt Rose had had an appendicitis, and was crippled from the polio that later caused her death. Samantha’s father was surprised that Samantha knew about Rose’s appendicitis, something he had forgotten about until she reminded him. Samantha found out that Rick never married, and wondered if he is waiting to see her again in their next life. She wanted to visit him to see if he would recognize her and to see if his love traveled over space and time, through their mutual pledge of loving each other and being together forever.

Her father expressed his regrets of not spending much time with Rose because she had spent most of her time with his sisters.  Samantha, as Rose, also regretted not spending enough time with her brother.  As father and daughter, they could finally have that time together fulfilling their karma.

Upon further contemplation, Samantha decided not to look for Rick, her lost love, now her father’s age, because she felt that meeting Rick might upset him or that he might not believe her.  Samantha was now sure that she is her Aunt Rose.

A Case Study in Past Life Regression Therapy: Severe Migraine Headaches

BACKGROUND:

In December of 2005, a client came to me presenting symptoms of severe migraine headaches.

During a history intake she informed me that since her baby had been born, three months earlier, she had been getting 17 migraines a week. When asked when she first remembered getting the first migraine in this life, she recounted it happening at the onset of her first menstruation. However, she would only get them once a month and only one day of her period.

The client told me she had been to many doctors, especially neurologist, to seek their help. They found nothing organically wrong with her and only offered painkillers. She felt that they didn’t help and that she could not function with her new baby in this pain. When a headache would come on she would have to go to bed, with blinds shut and the room darkened. Often she would vomit due to the pain. She said these made her feel “trapped.”

I received additional history about her family, her husband and the childbirth, none of which sounded suspicious regarding the headaches.

TREATMENT:

We agreed that I would put her under hypnosis and ask that she go to the root of the migraines, to see what was causing them.

When under hypnosis, my client went into a past lifetime around the early 1800s. She saw herself living in a small house in the country, on a farm. When asked to look back over the first 10 years of her life to see if anything significant happened, she contracted, and started to cry.

As I progressed her further to 15-years-old, she saw herself walking in town with her baby. Feeling out of her body, she got hit by a horse and wagon, hitting her head on the street and dying.  Death came so fast she had no time to think of anything before she died.

I took her to find a guide in the spiritual dimension so we could ask some questions. When she found her guide we asked how that life affected her migraines in this life.

We were told that the rape, pregnancy, and death were all tied together. The head trauma at death resulted as she carried the trauma of conception. This explained why she presented with headaches both at menstruation and after childbirth. The body‘s cellular memory was triggered by her connection to age and the conception of her baby. Conception and head trauma once again revisited.

RESULTS:

My client called several months after our session to inform me that her migraines had disappeared but that she occasionally still gets headaches.

Her doctors are amazed that she no longer suffers from her migraines.
